Stutter/lag crashing TF2

in a full server this happens with my fps about half way a map:
Spawnroom: nothing seems to be wrong got about 100-250 fps.

I walk out of the spawnroom into the clear battlefield, only teammates around me, I've got about 60 fps.

I face an enemy and we shoot at each other, my fps drops to around 20.

An enemy gets jarated or there is a buff banner deployed and there are a lot of minikritz, my fps goes to 9.

I don't get it! I've got a brand new computer which runs L4D2 and COD5 with everything on high like a dream. But it can't handle TF2. It doesn't matter if I play with settings on high or low, and changing resolutions only makes it worse. :S I don't get it
Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

this is the most usefull info valve send me butt failed to follow up on this
Hello,

According to your performance monitor logs, the issues are heavily related to memory paging and hard drive access.

Please ensure that the hard drive you installed the game to is fully defragmented, both with the system defragmentation tool and the Steam GCF defragmentation tool:

Title: Defragmenting Game Cache Files
Link: http://support.steampowered.com/kb_arti ... -OEMI-8577

Please also try adding the Steam folder to the list of your antivirus application's exceptions for active scanning. Active scanning can severely reduce the performance of accessing files from disk.

Also ensure that you do not have an excessive number of applications running in the background - Team Fortress 2 requires a great deal of RAM and any excess data will be placed in virtual memory on the hard drive, which is significantly slower than RAM.

If you have any further questions, please let us know - we will be happy to assist you.

What happened on LethalZone serverfps? It's 30-60 now and sounds ridiculously low for a server? On servers I've usually played it goes in hundreds.. and if I remember correctly it used to be like that on LZ servers also.

Also there seems to be more lagging than usual.

Any comments from admins?

PS. I have no experience actually running servers so.. just curious if fpslimiter is placed and why.

Seems to be only ALL MAPS #1 problem.
The fps on second server was ~470 when I took a quick look.
