Dodgeball Plugin Remarks

i've been hearing from some people that there are a lot of complaints concerning the new working of the dodgeball server.
If we could gather the basic remarks about the current version, then we can relay that with the creator of the mod and we can then see if we can solve these frustrations.

All in all, it would be handy that everyone playing on the db server adds his feedback. That we can get a better view on what's wrong with the addon so that both the server and the addon remain popular and visited.

Remind that your remarks will be posted towards third parties, so no flaming and provide as much information as possible where possible. Thank you

- limited ammo
- incoming damage now also counts from shotgun and flare

hmpf,
oticed the server is running not as good as it used to be.
If there are changes people don't like we need to talk to Voogru a.s.a.p
We're not paying for a ''broken'' mod.

Hey guys love your servers and I have made a donation but to be honest I’m not a big fan of the new dodge ball settings. I often find myself out of ammo and there is nothing I can do about it because there is no ammo available so basically I just have to stand there and wait to die unless of course somebody kills me with a flare or shotgun which is another matter. Surely the whole point of db is to reflect the rockets and get kills that’s what makes it fun and so different from regular tf and yet a lot of the time I am killed straight after the round starts because someone or several people are shooting me and I can’t move before the round starts which gives me low hp then they continue shooting once the round has started and I die instantly which kind of makes it pointless in my view, I may as well play regular tf or go elsewhere where the ammo is unlimited and I can not be killed by shotguns or flares and concentrate more on the main objective no offense to you guys or the creator of the mods I think you do a excellent job but it just seems like all the fun has gone. I spend more time looking for ammo and trying to avoid being shot than I do reflecting rockets and I know that there are other players who agree with me because they too have said as much.
I would really appreciate it if you could look into it thanks guys

hmm, i can understand that those 2 combinations change a whole lot of the gameplay and the concept that dodgeball stood for in the past.
I've added your remarks to the list, waiting a bit more feedback from other dodgeballers to see if there are more changes in the new mod.

Looked into the cfg's of the db server.
Hopefully ammo regen is back and damage by weapons off.
Test play seemed to confirm that.
Please check if the nuke model shows up correctly now.

just wanted to reply haha, never took a look at the dodgeball plugin and it's workings :oops: will download the cfg's tonight and take a peek, see what i can find out and maybe learn something for the futere when there is need for some changes :D

ammo regen works.
weapon damage is off
The big nuke still gives an error.

Is it correct that instead of the big nuke you see an ERROR flying around?
If so, then we might have some issues with the files on the downloadserver.
I experienced the same thing when I cleaned up my TF2 install. After I connected to the Dodgeball server of Voogru it downloaded some files and the nuke was visible again.

So the textures we supply might be incorrect.

you need the fatboy model's and textures, those where also missing after the moveover to the new server... No idea why they are removed again... voiced that back then as well.
you need for the nuke:
\team fortress 2\tf\materials\TFAdmin\models\dodgeball_fatboy\..
\team fortress 2\tf\models\TFAdmin\dodgeball_fatboy\..

try not to lose them again?

Re-uploaded the files to the Download server and Dodgeball server.

Lets hope its fixed now.

Edit: Tested the filedownload, that seems to be ok. Haven't seen if the nuke is correct now (wrong map).

Found a bug. When a player gets banned he doesn't get removed from the server. Couldn't kick him from the admin menu either since his name didn't show up there anymore. Had to start HLSW to kick the player.

ha lol but mayby the map ( db_bs_relentless) is still bugged ( the nuke spam whit the tesela thing and the tesela must go whit the nuke and *dat doet hij niet*)

I've had the problem of the 'ERROR' Nuke until yesterday, I found that the most usefull solution to it was to connect to the Voogru dodgeball servers, when I connected there it had to download the plug-ins, and it downloaded all of them correctly, then I just joined the lethal-zone dodgeball server again, and then the nuke did show up properly. also I've noticed that quite some people still have the 'error' nuke problem these days, I'm trying to help them all by telling them they need to connect to the voogru dodgeball server to download the nuke plug-in correctly. Haven't noticed any other things that annoy me in dodgeball, except the pushers and the hadoken killers.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, something else did annoy me... spawning on the spawn point of the enemy team.
happened to me once before, on db_freeway if I remember it correctly, I was red, and spawned at blue team, then I got flamed and died :evil:
