i make panorama pic`s in terragen(http://www.planetside.co.uk/)
and i use an stitcher to stitch the pic`s to getter.

I use Vue 8.5 for my 3D environments.
Its a really good start but Planetside looks outdated, I mean your sky is very flat.Try to get more atmosphere in it would be my advice.
Btw panoramic view is an aspect of 4:1 and yours is a lot longer ;)
Check out vue 8.5 (the lower version are buggy, you wont be letdown.(professional opportunity's are bigger, so also the tutorials)

i have used vue 6.?? its grate! the tree`s and (atmosphere) so one but i like the (simplex) of terragen 0.9X i have terragen 2 put its an bit complexer.
